Arts Co curated the London Olympics VIP Programme for international delegates coming into London during the period. Catherine Walker & Co is one of London’s only remaining authentic Couture Houses and our guests were taken around the atelier by the Creative Director Said Ismael. We were shown iconic items in their archives, including dresses worn by Princess Diana which have not been in the public eye for many years.
The atelier comprises thirty artisans, some of whom have been pattern making, tailoring, embroidering and beading at this particular fashion house for more than twenty years. These lifetime craftsmen form a team which is almost unique outside of Paris.
The Creative Director Said Ismael said, “It is an honour to participate in an event which spotlights London’s best arts organisations. I believe we have one of the most highly skilled couture teams in the UK and we are dedicated to providing made to measure, unique designs for our clients. This is ‘slow’ fashion and I’m looking forward to sharing what we do and how we cherish an approach rarely seen in this country today.”
